Dentistry for the Nurse and Technician
Since the majority of companion animals will suffer dental pathology including periodontal disease, fractures of their teeth, odontoclastic resorptive lesions, attrition, endodontic disease, recognition and treatment of oral disease is very important. The nurse and technician are an important cog in the dental machinery in every practice and once educated can build the dental and general practice. The topics covered during this one day course include: Anatomy, Periodontal Disease (charting, probing, scaling, probing, use of SANOS), Instrument care, Admission/Discharge of a patient and Home care protocols. Setting Up a Dental Program and Nurse Dental consultations. Radiology is one of the most important diagnostic tools available to the veterinary nurse. At this course you will greatly improve your radiographic dental skills as we cover: equipment / materials, indications for radiology, positioning for all standard views, developing and identification of normal vs. abnormal structures.
